Interesting article! It really strikes close to home for me. I am currently a full time realtor in Edmonton but also a wife and a mother of a 15 month old, very active baby boy.
It can get stressful trying to juggle everything on a daily basis from work to baby to cleaning, cooking and everything in between. I have learned that you CAN do mostly everything, but you need specific systems in place to get ANY one thing accomplished at a time. I find scheduling is a key component to a productive day. With my son being so active, it is hard to accomplish much while he is awake and running around. Knowing his schedule and that he takes two 1.5 – 2 hour naps a day, I plan my day accordingly and pencil in that time for only work. Whether I am calling past clients, doing paperwork or researching property for a client, that is my time to put my head down and really get a lot done. Conversely, during my son’s playtime it is time for he and I to spend quality time and I have realized that barring an emergency, most people are ok with a phone call returned within an hour or so.
With regards to your article, I think one of the most important things to be taken from it is the “me” time that each person needs, regardless of the line of work you are in. I agree that that time is so important to our physical and mental health. So whether it’s an hour to have a family dinner uninterrupted, 2 weeks to go on a wonderful vacation or 5 minutes of just peace and quiet it is so important to also remember to pencil THAT time into your day and your life as well!

Congratulations on your first blog, Wendy!
Great way to get started. So much to think about in our world today. Thanks for sharing.

Regarding your blog address, it took me awhile to locate it because you left off part of it. You put "www.WendyBodnar/blog". What you need is "www.WendyBodnar.com/blog". You may want to re-send so that people don't get frustrated trying to locate it. :-)

Love you!!!
